Distinguished Alumnus Award


The Distinguished Alumnus Award is given annually to recognize the many success stories of a John A. Logan College graduate.


The recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award will address the graduating class and be presented with an appropriate plaque at the John A. Logan College Commencement ceremony in May.

Selection Process

Nominations received on or before February 16th, 2024, will be eligible for the award.

A committee will then make the final selection.

Distinguished Alumnus Criteria:

  • Outstanding success and distinction in the chosen field
  • Humanitarian service that has proven greatly beneficial to society
  • Continued interest in and support of education and community colleges
  • Overcoming life’s obstacles
  • Completion of a recognized program of instruction or attendance for at least thirty (30) semester hours at an ICCTA member college

Distinguished Alumnus Award Nomination Form

The John A. Logan College Distinguished Alumnus of the Year will be nominated for the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) Distinguished Alumnus Award. The nominee from John A. Logan College will be invited to attend the awards banquet in Lombard, IL, where the statewide winner will be announced.
